As we are getting closer to the release of the iconic Tomb Raider I-III Remastered Starring Lara Croft bundle, Aspyr and Crystal Dynamics share more details on what to expect from Lara's first classic globe-trotting adventures.
Visuals
- New models, environments, and enemies - Modern tools and technologies allow new models for a consistent modern look and feel.
- Baked and real-time lighting effects - These changes add to the immersion and mood of the environment.
- Graphics toggle - At any point during gameplay players can experience the classic trilogy their own way, with the ability to toggle on the fly between enhanced and original graphics.
- Additional updates - Aspyr loves the classic look of the animations, textures, and VFX. They made adjustments in the modern scheme to look consistent with the updated models for a polished final look.
Control schemes
Aspyr took inspiration from the Legend, Anniversary, and Underworld era of Tomb Raider for the modern controller settings: the right stick has full camera control and Lara moves directionally based on camera position.
Just like the approach to the graphical presentation, the original, classic tank-style controls are still available to players via a menu toggle.
Trophies/achievements
More than 250 trophies/achievements will be available to earn with the bundle! (You'll also be rewarded by locking Winston the butler in the freezer!)
Photo Mode
Similar to the Photographer Mode known from Shadow of the Tomb Raider, you'll be able to capture iconic moments and environments in new ways! Pose Lara, change her facial expression, choose from various outfits and weapons for the best possible screenshots!
Other Features
- Boss health bars - Aspyr has added health bars to all the bosses to let you know if you should swap between weapons.
- 3D item sprites replacements - In Tomb Raider I & Tomb Raider II the in-game pickups (like Medipacks, ammos, and secrets) were flat 2D sprites. This time those sprites have been replaced by 3D objects.
Aspyr has a few more suprises for the players, but they wouldn't like to spoil them. Exciting times ahead!
