The long wait is almost over: Netflix's Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft will premiere Thursday, October 10, 2024 on the streamer. Netflix has also released a new teaser trailer for the series, which you can watch below, revealing some old/new characters, locations, and outfits.
The Legend of Lara Croft (written by Tasha Huo) will follow the events of the reboot/survivor trilogy - a canon continuation of Shadow of the Tomb Raider.
The series will be animated by Powerhouse Animation which is behind Netflix's Castlevania anime series.
Golden Globe and Olivier nominated British-American stage and screen actor Hayley Atwell (Captain America: The First Avenger, Agent Carter, Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One) will be giving her voice to Lara Croft.
Synopsis
Following the events of the Survivor series, Lara Croft has abandoned her friends to embark on increasingly more perilous solo adventures. But she must return home when a dangerous and powerful Chinese artifact is stolen from Croft Manor by a thief with an uncanny personal connection. Her daring pursuit will take her on an adventure around the world and to the depths of forgotten tombs, where she will be forced to confront her true self, and decide just what kind of hero she wants to become.
