Shared/announced by The Hollywood Reporter that Amazon is building a Tomb Raider franchise with a feature film, live action TV series, and Crystal Dynamics' video game that will all be interconnected similar to the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe).
TV Series
Fleabag and Killing Eve's Emmy award winner and actress Phoebe Waller-Bridge is prepping a Tomb Raider live action television series for Amazon Prime Video.
She will be writing and executive producing the TV show.
(Netflix's and Legendary Television's upcoming anime Tomb Raider series voiced by British-American actor Hayley Atwell is not affected by this.)
Feature Film
Amazon Studios is also developing a new Tomb Raider movie - that's all what we know for now.
Last year MGM has lost the rights of Tomb Raider films (and the sequel to 2018's Tomb Raider starring Alicia Vikander), but... Amazon purchased MGM a few months ago.
Video Game
As it was announced before, Amazon's video game publishing company (Amazon Games) has signed a deal with studio Crystal Dynamics (owned by Embracer Group) to support and publish the new multiplatform Tomb Raider title. You can learn more about the deal here.
As mentioned above, rumours also say that all three projects are part of a Tomb Raider multi-platform universe Amazon has been putting together.
